Prompt disposal of letters/references received from MPs/VIPs

Board Office:

i) All MPs/VIPs references received may be acknowledged immediately and reply be given within 10 days (in cases where no information required from Railways/PUs) and 15 days (in cases where information is required from Railways/PUs) from the date of the receipt of the reference. In case final reply is to take time, an interim reply indicating the possible date of giving reply may be sent.

ii) In case of letters addressed by MPs to CRB & CEO, Railway Board but pertaining to other Board Members, acknowledgement & reply in such instance may be given directly by the concemed Board Member unless indicated otherwise by CRB & CEO, Railway Board.

Zonal Railways/PUs:

Communications from MPs/VIPs should be given utmost attention and acknowledged immediately. lt may be ensured that references from MPs/MLAs/VIPs are immediately acknowledged and reply be submitted within 07 days (where no information is required from Divisions) and 15 day (where information is called from Divisions from the date of receipt of the reference). ln case the final reply is likely to take time, an interim reply should be sent immediately indicating the possible date by which the final reply would be issued. All such references may be monitored/processed electronically.
